Chichijima (Ogasawara) / Tokyo (Japan)
Located approximately 998 km south of mainland Tokyo, Chichijima is the largest island in the Ogasawara archipelago and forms the heart of the Chichijima chain alongside neighboring Anijima and Ototojima. Sitting at 27 degrees north latitude—roughly the same as Okinawa—this subtropical paradise is famously dubbed the "Galapagos of the Orient."
The island is a sanctuary for rare and endemic flora and fauna, with almost its entire area designated as a National Park. Home to a vibrant local community of about 2,000 residents, Chichijima offers a unique blend of pristine wilderness and warm island hospitality.
