As the largest city in the Tohoku region, Sendai is famously home to the equestrian statue of Date Masamune, the legendary feudal lord, which stands proudly at the site of Sendai Castle Ruins. On the outskirts of the city, you can discover Akiu Great Falls, a powerful 55-meter-high waterfall that becomes particularly breathtaking during the autumn foliage season.
