This port serves as the gateway to the expansive Ise-Shima National Park. Located nearby is Ise Jingu, the most prehistoric and spiritually significant shrine in Japan. With a history spanning 2,000 years, the sanctuary is divided into the Naiku (Inner Shrine), dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu Omikami, and the Geku (Outer Shrine), dedicated to Toyouke no Omikami, the deity of agriculture and industry.

The region is filled with captivating attractions, including the Toba Aquarium, one of Japan’s largest marine facilities, and Shinmei Shrine, one of the "Three Goddesses of Toba" deeply revered by the local Ama (traditional female divers). Visitors can also explore Mikimoto Pearl Island, the site where the world’s first successful pearl cultivation took place, now featuring a fascinating theme park dedicated to these gems of the sea.
