Toba is the primary port for visiting Ise Jingu, Japan's most sacred and historically significant Shinto shrine. With a profound 2,000-year history, the sanctuary consists of the Naiku (Inner Shrine), dedicated to the sun goddess Amaterasu Omikami, and the Geku (Outer Shrine), dedicated to Toyouke no Omikami, the guardian deity of agriculture and industry.

The city itself is packed with attractions, including the Toba Aquarium, one of Japan’s largest marine facilities showcasing an incredible diversity of species. Don't miss Shinmei Shrine, one of the "Three Goddesses of Toba" revered by the Ama (traditional female divers) for granting women's wishes. Finally, explore Mikimoto Pearl Island, the birthplace of cultivated pearls, where you can watch diving demonstrations and discover the world's finest pearl jewelry.
